New Co-operation between WTC and GE Inspection Technologies
Huerth, Germany, July, 2005
Welding Technology Corporation, WTC, of Farmington Hills, Michigan and GE Inspection Technologies, GE Inspection Technologies, Huerth, Germany, are pleased to announce a new relationship between the two companies for the ultrasonic inspection of resistance spot welds.
WTC will represent exclusively the GE´s USLT 2000 product family for all resistance welding applications in North America, as well as delivering dedicated product services and training. The combination of controlling resistance welding and the weld inspection process will greatly improve WTC´ s ability to control weld quality and reliability. This will bring down scrap costs by the reduction or avoidance of destructive testing used today in favor of the proven Ultrasonic testing methodology.
WTC is one of the largest suppliers of welding control systems for the Automotive Industry in North America. GE Inspection Technology is a world wide supplier of non destructive testing technology.
The partnership will eventually marry the spot weld inspection process to the welding controls through shared network systems. Both partners are extremely confident that this co-operation will deliver a complete solution to the production and evaluation of quality spot welds.
