GE Inspection Technologies launches PTZ70 Camera Head for Everest Ca-Zoom® 6.2

Billerica, MA, USA – August 13, 2007 – GE Inspection Technologies launches the new Ca-Zoom PTZ70 camera head for remote visual inspection. The PTZ70 is the smallest in diameter and now the third interchangeable camera head for the Ca-Zoom 6.2 product family.

The PTZ70 camera is 70 mm (2.75 in) in diameter and features 40x total zoom (10x optical zoom; 4x digital zoom), eight 4-watt LED lights with variable intensity control, and 360-degree continuous pan direction.

This newest addition to the Ca-Zoom 6.2 platform allows users to increase inspection capabilities with the most comprehensive industrial pan-tilt-zoom camera available in the world today. The Ca-Zoom 6.2 system can also operate the PTZ100 and PTZ140 camera heads utilizing the same cable and Camera Control Unit.

“GE’s Ca-Zoom 6.2 puts inspection and digital image management in the palm of your hand with three interchangeable camera head options, integrated image capture, full-motion video recording capabilities and comparison measurement features,” said Susan Shields, Product Manager for GE Inspection Technologies’ Ca-Zoom 6.2 system. “Our newest camera, the PTZ70, enables increased productivity for customer inspection requirements. Its diameter allows access into large spaces with limited point of entry, which minimizes downtime and the need for confined space entry, and keeps workers out of hazardous environments.”

The Ca-Zoom 6.2 includes CompactFlash® removable storage media, the ability to record and playback more than two hours of DVD format MPEG2 video and a USB streaming digital video port.  The system will accept any storage capacity size Type I CompactFlash® (CF) card. It also features the ability to record digital still images and MPEG2 or MPEG1 video either on its internal 64MB flash memory or on removable CF cards.
