AGFA NDT PMC Strips (Process Monitoring Control)

These X-ray pre-exposed strips for PMC are produced under controlled and consistent conditions to ISO 9001standards and by Agfa NDT's own QA procedures. You can buy certified PMC strips for classification compliance tests (EN 584-2 and ISO 11699-2), and non-certified strips for the processing control described in Annex A of the standards. PMC strips can also be used on a day-to-day basis to provide control data as part of your quality management system (ISO 9000).

Every box of PMC strips comes with detailed instructions for use, plus a PMC chart to record results and demonstrate compliance with the standard. Certified PMC strips come with a certificate of EN 584 conformity, including general information on EN 584-2 procedures.

Fixers for Manual and Automated Processing

EN 584-2 and ISO 11699-2 require that processed film strips be evaluated with a densitometer which must have been calibrated with a reference wedge. The AGFA NDT Certified Denstep is an X-ray film step tablet for calibrating optical densitormeters used in NDT and industrial X-ray procedures.

Each tablet:

  • is protected against fumes, dust, etc. by a light-tight, waterproof package.
  • comes with a verification certificate and a copy of the NIST certificate S.R.M. 1001.

The density values reported, cross-referenced to the certificate by serial number, can be matched to NIST (United States National Institute of Standards and Technology) through traceable calibrations of the instrumentation and procedures in accordance with AGFA NDT's ISO 9001-approved QA system.

Note: A Non-Certified Denstep is available for the North American market.

AGFA NDT Thio-Test

The archivability of a processed film can be checked by measuring residual thiosulphate in the emulsion layers. The AGFA NDT Thio-Test kit lets you check the results of the fixing and washing procedures, as described in EN 584-2 and ISO 11699-2, and correlates perfectly with other standards (ISO/ANSI) for determining the archival quality of industrial X-ray film. The Thio-Test kit contains a Thio-Test Colour step wedge, which relates to the archivability in terms of years, and a bottle of Thio-Test reagent enables you to execute for about a 1500 tests.
