How we operate NDT Training

Hand-On Training

NDT - On average 50% to 60% of class time is devoted to hand's-on training. Courses are carefully designed to give inspectors the skills needed to excel. Detailed class-work and proven "hand's-on" exercises quickly bring the student to a thorough understanding of the inspection theories and concepts, leading to a higher level of competence. Each student will have access to UT thickness gauges, digital flaw detectors, X-Ray equipment and a large selection of transducers, probes, calibration standards, and documented inspection samples under direct supervision of our experienced staff.

VT/RVI - Visual Testing and Remote Visual Inspection (RVI) training is conducted in a professional training format containing lesson plans, presentations,, worksheets, laboratory exercises and quizzes. 30% of the VT course is hands-on with hand tool measuring equipment, specimens containing known discontinuities and realistic conditions. The RVI course is 30-50 % hands-on training with state-of-the-art RVI equipment. Each student will have access to borescopes, fiberscopes, video borescopes, pan/tilt/zoom cameras, push tube cameras, pipe crawler cameras and video technology equipment to capture, record and transfer digital images.

Course Content

The presentation of theory is easy. The development of a top performing technician or supervisor is not. That step requires a thorough knowledge of the industry and an understanding of the problems faced by the people who make the industry work.

That's the kind of knowledge and understanding that goes into the development of GE Inspection Technologies course curriculums.

That's what makes GE Inspection Technologies courses the most valued and respected in the industry.
